A very rare oktobol of Pyrrhos from the former inventory of the Staatliche Museen in Berlin

SICILY. Syracuse. Pyrrhos, 278-276 BC. Oktobol (Silver, 19 mm, 5.53 g, 6 h). ΠΥ Head of Persephone to right, wearing wreath of grain ears. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ Athena Alkidemos advancing left, brandishing spear with her right hand and holding shield in her left; to left, thunderbolt; to right, cornucopiae. BMC -. HGC 3, 263. SNG ANS -. Very rare and beautifully toned. Light scratches and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good fine.
